My before picture isn’t the best because I wouldn’t allow photos to be taken of me, but I think I look like I was pregnant. I am 47 years old and 5′ 4″. I had been drinking a popular diet drink for lunch for the past 10 years just trying to lose 5 pounds. I ended up gaining 10 more! When I began, I pre-planned every meal and went shopping. Even though the book said to weigh yourself often the first day, I didn’t want to look at the scale until the next morning. I had lost 3 pounds!!! This really got me excited, so I decided to stick with the plan. Within the first week, I lost 7 pounds total. I didn’t stray from the diet — AT ALL.
I didn’t sneak cookies or candy because I wanted to lose that weight. I began in May of 2011 and by the beginning of July, I had reached my goal weight. I even went 5 more pounds without trying (which is my pre-pregnancy weight from 14 years ago). I went from an uncomfortably tight size 8 to a loose size 4. I am now in the stabilization phase and plan to stay on it forever because it is so easy. I have so much more energy and can keep up with my 14 year old now. After having a baby, I tried every diet on the market and none of them worked. Thank you, thank you, thank you Dr. Dukan for publishing this diet. I would have to say the only bad thing about this diet was I had to buy all new clothes!
