5 years ago today I used to weigh 500 pounds . It was a prison of my own making. Dr. Pierre Dukan told me if I could keep it off for 5 years, the chances were very good to keep it off the rest of my life. I have met some wonderful people and have had some amazing experiences due to this change. It’s been a tough road. I’m not going to sugar coat it. I’m not one of the lucky ones. I smell food and I gain 10 pounds lol. It can be done,you just have to want to change. I started with a simple dance game on my Xbox and by the end of my first year had completed a 100 mile cycle tour. The impossible is only in your mind. I have appreciated simple things most of us take for granted. Getting on a plane without the need for an extender or dirty looks from the other passengers. Going to a public place like a restaurant and worrying if the seats can hold me. Going to the beach and water parks without people snickering or making mean comments. If you are thinking about losing weight now is a good a time as any. I’m willing to share any knowledge I have gained from this experience. If you need to lose a significant amount of weight it’s not easy but it can be done. I’m living proof. I’m nobody special. Just a guy who was sick of having my life dictated by my weight. Adding the right exercise for your fitness level combined with the Pierre Dukan diet can give incredible results. Before I was lifting big weights with some cardio mixed in. I was getting results and losing weight but also putting on bulk. I switched to more High Intensity Workouts like Les Mills, and the results were dramatic. Just one bit of advice workout to your comfort level because if you hate doing so you will quit eventually. Enjoy yourself while you workout.
