About 10 years ago, my doctor scared me with the fact that I was pretty close to having diabetes. I got serious and started working on losing weight and getting healthier. Over a period of 3 years, I lost about 80 pounds and felt great. I maintained that weight loss very well until my mother, at age 92, started to go downhill and ultimately had to move into assisted living and dementia care.
That stressful 3 years led to my gaining back about 15 pounds, which I had struggled to lose I don’t know how many times. When my sister-in-law heard about Dukan and suggested that my brother try it, he then suggested it to me, and I not only have lost that 15 pounds but another 15 as well. I believe that Dukan is the best lifetime eating plan I have ever found, and I have learned so much!
I am sure that this is the way I will live from now on! No turning back!
My favorite support Dukan food: Shrimp cocktail (my homemade cocktail sauce)
My Dukan treat: Chocolate or cinnamon oat bran muffins
My favorite form of exercise: Water aerobics and Pilates
The nicest compliment I’ve been paid: My partner (not husband, but close) telling me « Wow, you’re really skinny now! »
What keeps me going: Wanting to be healthy
The advice I’d give to other « Dukanians »: Trust the plan, and enjoy knowing that we are eating good natural healthy food in a way that can be maintained and controlled.
