I’ve found myself in conversations with friends recently saying « I never realized I felt so bad. » I even had a friend say « I never realized your weight bothered you. I always figured you were comfortable with how you looked. » Although I may have outwardly gave the impression that I felt good about myself, preDukan, the truth is I was always wondering if I would be « that girl » the girl that lost what she gained in college or would finally lose the extra baby weight. Truth is, now I am that girl and it feels great! I was encouraged by a good friend of mine to do the Dukan. She is in Japan, I am in Washington DC. We promised to be honest & encouraged each other via text message and email. We even started a blog to log our weight, exercise, consumption and recipes. We started this adventure together on August 8th. She has been a great support system and I wouldn’t have ever tried it, had she not been there for me. Now I have several friends at work that are doing the diet with me and we have all become a support system for each other. I feel so much better than I have in years! I have more energy and confidence. The Dukan diet has become a lifestyle for me and I will NEVER go back to how I was before. I’m excited for what this change holds for not only me, but my family too!
