I started the Dukan Diet on April 22, 2011 at 160 pounds after seeing a story about the diet on Good Morning America. Several years ago before I tried the Dukan Diet, I was able to lose about 15 pounds on the South Beach Diet, but it all quickly came back and then some more! I had since tried to lose weight by eating better and using smaller portions, but with no success. I was miserable. The last straw came when I could no longer get my wedding and engagement rings off and I refused to have them cut off. When I heard about the Dukan Diet it sounded entirely do-able to me, so I started it and never looked back. It took me a while to find my go to foods, believe it or not Sara Lee Brown Sugar Ham saved my sanity and my diet is my go to savory food.
I reached my goal weight of 127.5 pounds on August 10 and I have since dropped another 7.5 pounds in the consolidation phase, without trying and with celebration meals! I went from a size 10-12 petite to a size 2 petite and a size medium or large to an extra small. I even went from a 7.5 shoe to a 7. For years, I have wanted to wear riding boots and jeans and could not find boots to zip over my calves. I am so happy to report that I now have a collection of skinny jeans and boots to zip over them and I can now get my wedding rings off to clean them!
Success is an understatement, I feel like a new person and I could not be happier with the results! Thank you Dr. Dukan, for giving me the power to do something I thought I could never do. It is amazing the difference you can make in just a few months!
My favorite support Dukan food: Oat Bran
My Dukan treat: Hot Cocoa with splenda and cocoa powder in unsweetened soy milk
My favorite form of exercise: Walking – 40 – 60 min EVERY day!
The nicest compliment I’ve been paid: People keep telling me that they mistook me for my 14 year old daughter!
What keeps me going: Success! Everything Dr. Dukan says has been right on.
The advice I’d give to other « Dukanians »: Find your personal success foods and STICK WITH IT. It works!
