My weight loss journey started when my size 16 clothes started getting too tight, I knew I had to do something. I surely didn’t want to buy a larger size. I had awful indigestion every time I ate, too. I knew I had to lose weight, but wasn’t sure how. During March I heard Kate Middleton was on the Dukan Diet and it was the “in” thing overseas and it had a lot of success. It sounded like the ideal plan. It wasn’t actually a diet, but a healthy way to eat.
I purchased the book in April and read it cover to cover and was excited to start my journey. My starting weight on April 22nd was 184 pounds. I was on the Attack Phase for 3 days and lost 3 pounds. On May 22nd I weighed 171. July 2nd I weighed 161. August 12th I weighed 151. August 26th I met my TW at 148. However, after being on the Consolidation Phase, I lost 6 more pounds and have been steady at that weight.
Here it is November 7, 2011 and I’m still at 142! Amazing! At the beginning I had to say “no” to a lot of foods and actually I didn’t really mind. I knew where I was heading and looked forward to being healthier and “smaller” and besides I wasn’t getting indigestion. I knew I was on the right path. Little did I know the weight would actually FALL off my body!
I loved the feeling of the “vacuum” (where it feels like your body is being sucked in. I haven’t been able to see myself in the mirror as others see me. When I look at myself in the mirror, I still see my old self. However, I see it in my clothes size. I went from a size 16 down to sizes 8s and 10s. Who would have thought back in March that I could wear a size 8? Thank you Dukan for a wonderful eating plan that can last a lifetime!
My favorite support Dukan food: Oat Bran Cereal in the morning
My Dukan treat: Fage Yogurt with Splenda and cinnamon
My favorite form of exercise: Treadmill
The nicest compliment I’ve been paid: I want to be skinny like you.
What keeps me going: Knowing that I’m healthier and feeling better. Going shopping for clothes is now FUN!
The advice I’d give to other « Dukanians »: Never give up. Keep your goal in mind and know that if I did it, you can too.
