As a first time dieter, I wanted to find a diet where I wouldn’t worry about starving or my weight rebounding. My husband started the Dukan Diet before me, and got to his weight loss goal of 30 pounds. After seeing his success, I wanted to try the diet for myself. My weight goal was 60 pounds, and after having two kids, I was a little worried. The diet was very simple to follow. Not being super physically fit, walking was a simple and easy work out that the diet required.
It took me 4 months and 2 weeks to lose the weight. I am currently in the 3rd phase, where I can have a celebration meal once a week when I can eat whatever I’d like, along with a balanced diet. I’ve maintained my weight still, and never felt like I had to starve. I love this diet and it literally saved my life.
My favorite support Dukan food: Omelets
My Dukan treat: sugar free jello
My favorite form of exercise: walking
The nicest compliment I’ve been paid: Some have told me that I look like Im in my teens now., and that I look healthy and happy. And I am!
What keeps me going: Knowing that I can be around longer with my kids and husband because of this new healthy lifestyle. My doctor warned me that if I didn’t lose weight, that maybe 5-10 years down the road, I’d probably have high blood pressure and diabetes…thanks to Dukan, I don’t have to worry anymore!
The advice I’d give to other « Dukanians »: The diet is worth it. In the end, you can have the eating lifestyle you want, and enjoy the new body you always wanted. Always keep yourself full so your not tempted to cheat. It really does work.
