I have finally found the answer to my weight loss problems and there’s no going back now! The Dukan Diet has freed me from excess weight and I have 100% confidence that I will continue to feel that freedom the rest of my life. I was a chubby teenager, eating my teenage emotions into submission. It was difficult to be a bigger girl in high school and affected my self-esteem and confidence greatly. As I moved into my 20s, I still struggled, but, at 23, finally managed to get to my goal weight of 130 lbs by food deprivation. My desire to be that weight was strong, but I obtained it the wrong way. I was exhausted, mentally foggy and depressed, despite being the weight I had dreamed of for years.
In 2005, my husband and I discovered I was pregnant. Despite being overjoyed, I was terrified of forever losing the weight I had fought so hard for. Would I ever see 130 again? I gained 55 lbs during my pregnancy, which was quite high. I over-indulged with all the foods I had deprived myself of for so long. I gave birth to a healthy, beautiful baby boy, but was left with 15 extra pounds. After my maternity leave ended, I returned to work. The stress of working and being a new mother made me come home and gorge on high-calorie foods to combat this new fatigue.
Finally, after feeling depressed and discouraged for over 2 years, my mother-in-law introduced me to the Dukan Diet. I was excited and raring to go immediately. I started in July of this year and have, so far, lost 25 lbs. I have 6 more to arrive at my True Weight, but I have every confidence that I will be there soon. I truly feel that I have found a lifestyle that is healthy and will keep me at my True Weight for life. I feel happy, confident and full of energy! And I am doing things I’ve never done before!
A few weeks ago, my husband and I hiked 16 kilometers to a gorgeous lake at the top of a mountain! I never imagined I would be doing something like that and I’m so proud that I did! Dr. Dukan’s book has made my life better, richer and more fulfilled and I thank him for it. I am a proud Dukanista and look forward to the rest of my life knowing I have the tools to lose weight and, most importantly, keep it off!
